Script for contacting your senators about Trump appointees
After my post on appointments, I got a number of people asking me for a script they could use for calling their senators. Here's a lightly-edited version of the script I used for calling Dianne Feinstein this morning:
By appointing Steve Bannon to a key role within his administration, and already talking about establishing a Muslim registry, Donald Trump has told us a lot about the kind of president he will be. I realize that Bannon is not going to need Senate approval, but as more appointees names come out, the Senate needs to work not only to make sure that Trump cannot have racist appointees confirmed to his administration, but that the Senate only confirms appointees of unquestionable competence and integrity. The Senate cannot confirm people like Newt Gingrich or Rudy Giuliani whose main qualification for Trump's cabinet appears to be loyalty to Donald Trump. Thank you.
